Saudi Arabia is divided into 13 provinces, with the two largest of al-Sharqiyya and Riyadh alone making up half the territory; regarding the population, the province of the capital is the one with the greatest number of inhabitants, in front of the province of Mecca.At the 2022 census there were 29 cities with at least 100,000 inhabitants, of which 5 over one million; as can be seen from the second map, the population is concentrated in some areas, such as those of Jeddah-Mecca and Dammam on the Persian Gulf.
